Terve!
Hi There!
Do you want to see the Pasila Sport Hall? This multifunction hall is used for a wide variety of training purposes and for competitions for example in basketball, volleyball and roller derby. And in August 2013 it’s going to act as a venue for the 6th World Taido Championship.
Walking distance from the Sokos Hotel Pasila to Pasila Sport Hall is less than 10 minutes.
Pasila offers a number of excellent choices for spending one’s leisure time. The large Helsinki Central Park borders West Pasila, offering numerous opportunities for activities throughout the WTC2013-event. Hugging West Pasila, Helsinki Central Park offers excellent opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation, including allotment gardens, an archery track and a sports hall, as well as both indoor and outdoor horse riding fields and tracks.
Did you know that the XV Olympic Games were held in Helsinki 1952?
The swimming events were arranged at the Swimming Stadium. This outdoor swimming pool still exists so take a dip to warm water while your stay at Helsinki.
The tower of the Olympic stadium, a distinct landmark with a height of 72.71 metres (238.5 ft), taken from gold-medal winning result of Matti Järvinen in javelin throw of 1932 Summer Olympics, is open for visitors and offers impressive views over Helsinki.
Other activities can be found for example at the historic Linnanmäki amusement park which is also located nearby.
Helsinki can offer a lot of wonderful memories and experiences as well as outstanding Taido spirit!
