9.

Nyt on hyvin ansaitun joulutauon aika. Joulun jälkeen taas paluu tatamille MM-kilpailuvuoden pyörähtäessä käyntiin hurjaa vauhtia.

Rentouttavaa ja rauhallista Joulua ja oikein hyvää uuttavuotta 2013!

Rauhallista Joulua!

"The 21st of December is the shortest
day in a year. In southern Finland, the shortest day is about 6 hours long.
Luckily we have the Christmas light everywhere!"

Merry Christmas to you all and best wishes for the coming year!

Recipe for Christmas All Year Long
Take a heap of child-like wonder
That opens up our eyes
To the unexpected gifts in life—
Each day a sweet surprise.

Mix in fond appreciation
For the people whom we know;
Like festive Christmas candles,
Each one has a special glow.

Add some giggles and some laughter,
A dash of Christmas food,
(Amazing how a piece of pie
Improves our attitude!)

Stir it all with human kindness;
Wrap it up in love and peace,
Decorate with optimism, and
Our joy will never cease.

If we use this healthy recipe,
We know we will remember
To be in the Christmas spirit,
Even when it's not December.

Moi!

Junnutkin valmistautuvat MM-tapahtumaan!

Lisäksi edellisessä blogikirjoituksessa mainittu tatamihaaste on selätetty! :)

Juniors are important for us all and that’s why there is a special WTC-seminar for children. One of the main instructors will be Mikael Jansson sensei 7th dan from Sweden!
Children can also compete in International Friendship Games. There are hokei events for 7 years and up (no belt limitation) and jissen events for 13 years and up (4kyu->). Both for boys and girls.
But there is something new as well!

Childhood is the key time for learning sport skills and Taido trick track for Kids is all about that physical development should be fun. Practicing just hokei or kihongi can be sometimes quite frustrating to both – the teacher and the pupils. Finnish Taido Association has created a new belt system for kids under 12 years old. Focus in the new system is on developing the motor skills.
The main idea in both Taido trick track for Kids as well as in new belt system is to enhance the foundation of physical and sport skills which eventually enable more complex and demanding performances.
Physical development consists of two major components: physical fitness and motor skill development. Physical fitness includes strength, endurance, flexibility and body composition. Motor skills include locomotion (running, walking, jumping, hopping), manipulation (throwing, kicking, catching, bouncing), and stability (bending, twisting, rolling, dodging).
Taido trick track for Kids was introduced in UniDojo Open Taido Competition 1st of December in Helsinki. It looked like this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151342486024274. It was great fun!
In WTC-event there is no belt limitation for attending to trick track. The maximum age participating on this event is 12 years.
After the New Year all Taido countries will receive instructions about Taido trick track for Kids and how to practice it for becoming WTC2013 Event. Also video will be attached.
Taido juniors – You are very welcome to Finland!
